ABOUT THIS STUDY

Medvin Clinical ResearchWhat is the PROTECTION Study?

The purpose of this clinical research study is to determine the efficacy (whether it works) and safety of an investigational wearable device for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis.

This study is for someone who has a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis and has taken some basic medications, for example Methotrexate, Plaquenil or Sulfasalazine for at least 3 months and have not had adequate relief or had intolerance to any of these. Furthermore, the patients should NOT have been exposed to a biologic (injection or infusion for the treatment of RA) in the past.

Participants in this study will be asked to use the wearable at home, every day, for 15 minutes a day, for 3 months. The wearable has been studied in a small pilot study. Results from this study indicate that the wearable may potentially offer an alternative, non-pharmacologic option for the treatment of RA.

COVID Protocol – We are following the State mandated COVID guidelines, including distancing, masks, temperature monitoring and symptoms verification. There are only 5 visits for the study on site.
